Is it a Man's World??

Upon turning my clocks back today I happened to notice the calender reads  Nov.6th 2011. The fact that election day is a mere 2 days away is quite exciting. It is not however the reason the date peeks my interests.
You see, it has recently been said that politics is a mans world and that I am much more suited for the kitchen than a seat on city council. What an absolutely horrific thing to say. If the person(s) who made such a remark had ever tasted any of my cooking I'm quite sure they would be singing a completely different tune.
Could there possibly be in this day and age people who still hold such antiquated beliefs? Should I dust off my corset and shut my big mouth because there are men folk present?
I've always been one of those uppity type of women with high falutin ideas, you know about how women and men are equal. Silly little gal that I am.
I do hope that the person(s) who made such a telling remark happen to read this little rant because I think if you knew these tidbits of information you might change your mind....
1.) I don't know how to sew, my husband does all the sewing in our house.
2.) I do our taxes every yr.
3.) I am a god awful cook
4.) The man of the house and I share the responsibility of laundry duty
5.) I leave dinner dishes to soak in the sink over night because I'd rather play with the kids, besides the dishes will still be there in the AM
6.) I know how to do a tune up, oil change and rotate the tires on a vehicle
7.) I am a stay at home Mom by choice
8.) I believe that "homemade" means you made it at home...Sara Lee pies and Toll House cookie dough= homemade
9.) I have been known to squish an icky spider all on my own and not even call my husband in for backup
10.) My husband owns more clothes than I do. I have three dresser drawers he has 6 drawers and a walk in closet.
I think now most of you have come to the conclusion that the Kitchen is definitely not the place I'm best suited for. Ms. Manners and Betty Crocker were never really my role models growing up. I was more partial to Queen Elizabeth,Margaret Thatcher,Annie Oakley and Mae West.
