Thanksgiving has passed and the dust has settled on the elections, I finally have time to blog again. My first order of business is to give a long overdue congratulations to Bill Carey who come January 1st will be our next 5th Ward Alderman.
I have no regrets, I met so many fantastic people that in all honesty I probably wouldn't have. Many of those people I now count amongst my friends. I learned a lot about politics, something I knew absolutely nothing about before. My family and I are much more involved in our community and we are plugged in. I wouldn't change that for anything. It's much more rewarding to say that I tried than to say I thought about trying.
We have so many new faces on our council this year along with a brand new mayor and I am excited to see what changes will be made. So many of the people I have spoken to had some great ideas and positive visions for Kingston. I think if we all work together with our local government change can and will happen.
I plan on staying involved and active here in our city. I look forward to working with all of the wonderful people who are the heart of this community.
